Written by Shaun Jex
“We’re here to share the world,”
Grandma said as she scooped
Up a spider from the kitchen floor
And carried it outside in a glass cup
“Every creature, large and small
Is a piece of the big, beautiful puzzle
That we call life, and without them
The picture will never be complete.”
Sometimes, I hear her gentle voice
As I make my way through each day
And it seems the words she spoke
Are about bigger things than bugs
