QUEEN OF THE BEACH

Written by Grant Shimmin
Where the moving edge dips
below the retreating waterline
she spins
Face to the heavens
Arms wide
then reaching high
Around and around
steady and sure of alternating foot
Joy spiralling upwards
through eyes shut
but pouring light back into sky
And as she spins, oblivious
waves prostrate themselves
at her whirling, dancing feet
