OCTOBER GEESE

Written by Allison Zaczynski
The geese remember what I have forgotten—
that my body can move,
that I’m not a tree,
and if I were, I’d slip my roots
out of the ground and walk away.

It’s that simple—
point your body in the direction you want to go

and levitate.
