LORE EXCHANGE

Written by Bethany Cutkomp
Near-tipsy with weariness, you and I curl on your bedroom floor.
Your voice is a warm murmur slurring exhausted syllables, listing
off this-one-time-I phrases that overlap our Venn diagram lifespans.
Unravel your history to me: your puzzle-piece memories, exclusive
vulnerability. Idle as they may seem, dormant inside a mind busied
with present needs, it is a pleasure to meet these Russian-doll mini
versions of yourself tucked inside the person you have grown to be.
