INELEGANT THING

Written by Devon Webb
Where do I go from here
I ask from an eager right angle with my
legs pressed up against the wall folded
almost but not quite in half
My body flops around like a
dehydrated fish when it isn’t practically
levitating
aaaah I can open doors through dreams but
reality is a harder physics
I am stuck in beginnings
beginningbeginningbeginning like a slow burn
guess this is what I asked for isn’t it
this gentle unfurling of things
but I have one foot firmly in tomorrow & the
bit in between is keeping me off-balance
there is this big abyss in which
my body doesn’t know what to do with itself
I reach for the furthest edge, & leap like an inelegant thing.
