DOGS SHOW LOVE & CARE | Artwork by Finn Rotert (age 6)
Sometimes my dog falls asleep
while I’m petting him.
I watch his blinks slow
until his eyes close.
It’s a little thing.
His legs twitch,
dream running…
again a wild wolf
owning the woods,
surviving on instinct.
Yet—
He lets me rub his belly
while he sleeps.
Fingertips in his fur,
my eyes close, too.
